Tefilah Class – Tefilah Class meets every other Monday morning, from 9:00-10:00am (see calendar for upcoming dates) at 12 Waverly Place, Lawrence, N.Y. This class is based on the Sefer Gates of Prayer, insights of Rav Shimshon Dovid Pincus zt’l. As we learn the sefer together, we study excerpts from Chumash, teachings of the Sages, novel Torah insights, and many practical lessons and real-life vignettes, when relevant to the text. The class was formed as a “Jewish Response to Tragedy,” in memory of Eyal Yifrach, Naftali Frenkel and Gilad Shear z’l. Join us as we strive to enhance and understand the power of prayer, and deepen our connection to the Almighty. Copies of the sefer are provided for in class use. The cost is $12 per class. Parsha Class – Parsha Class meets weekly (see calendar for upcoming dates), on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings (times, addresses and fees are below). Choose the day and time that works best for you.
Join us as we study the Parshas Ha’Shavua – the weekly Torah portion – and learn thought provoking insights and lessons. The lives of the Avos and Imahos and the twelve Tribes, the great leaders Moshe, Aharon and Miriam, and the struggles and triumphs of the Israelite nation from infancy to redemption, from Egypt to the border of the Promised Land; all this and more comes to life in relevant, inspiring and exciting ways.
Parsha classes are for women only.
The cost of the Tuesday and Wednesday class is $12 per class on a pay-as-you-go basis. Alternatively, cost is $10 per class when paying for a month of classes upfront, which includes a CD or MP3 recording of any missed class.
There is no fee to attend the Thursday class.

JCC Classes – Classes at the JCC of Cedarhurst, 207 Grove Avenue, Cedarhurst, N.Y., are offered during the fall and spring and topics vary. A sampling of topics include: Insights into Chessed, The Matriarchs, Jewish holidays, and Insights into Brachos. Please see the calendar for classes offered this session. The cost of a four part series is generally $50, or $15 per class, payable to the JCC. Registration may be done in advance by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or you may walk in and join us the day of the class. For women only.
Living With Emunah – This class meets weekly, on Wednesday evenings from 8:30 – 9:15pm, at Congregation Shaaray Tefila, 25 Central Avenue, Lawrence, NY. Join us as we learn from the sefer Building a Sanctuary in the Heart, which is an English adaptation of the Hebrew sefer Bilvavi Mishkan Evneh. This important sefer outlines essential and practical steps for attaining closeness to Hashem. Please see the calendar for upcoming class dates. There is no fee to attend this class.
Parsha Class for Seniors – This weekly class, which meets on Monday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30am, (see Calendar for upcoming dates) is located at 156 B. 9 Street, 2nd Floor Far Rockaway, NY. This unique and exciting class is geared towards senior citizens who are over sixty-five years old. Join us as we learn insights and lessons derived from the Parshas Ha’Shavua (weekly Torah portion). The lives of the various biblical personalities, as well as the struggles and triumphs of the Israelite nation, from Egypt to the border of the Promised Land, comes to life in relevant and exciting ways. Questions and comments are encouraged during class time. Lunch is served at 11:30am. Please note that there is no fee to attend this class.
Shmiras Ha’Lashon Class – This class meets every other Monday morning (see calendar for upcoming dates) from 9:15-10am at 11 Holly Lane, Lawrence, NY. Join us as we learn from the sefer Kuntres Chovat HaShemirah, written by the Chafetz Chaim zt’l in 1915. Copies of the sefer are provided for in class use. Towards the end of class time, we learn from the sefer “A Lesson a Day”, regarding the laws of forbidden speech. The focus of this class is Shmiras Ha’Lashon – guarding one’s tongue, speech and words – based on the teachings of the holy Chafetz Chaim, R’ Yisrael Meir Ha’Kohen Kagan of Radin. There is no fee to attend this class.
